Drs Roach and Miller have presented an important and highly significant review of the diverse field of neurocutaneous disorders. When reading this book, I cannot help but be reminded of Gerald Fenichel’s Clinical Pediatric Neurology in terms of its fundamental approach and scope. Specifically, 41 various neurocutaneous disorders are covered in this volume. The reader will find the key points necessary for diagnosis, counseling, and clinical management of the various disorders. Topics range from the common (tuberous sclerosis) to the uncommon (blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome) and are dealt with in a felicitous and comprehensive fashion that favors the clinical neurologist. There is a useful introduction, as well as chapters on the genetics of neurocutaneous disorders and clinical recognition. While none of the chapters are encyclopedic, as for example in more traditional texts such as The Inherited Basis of Metabolic Disease, the reader will find thorough yet concise descriptions . . .
