This second edition provides a review of a nearly exhaustive number of syndromes, disorders, and conditions that have been researched in the fields of behavioral neurology and neuropsychology but are seldom covered in 1 textbook. Significant changes relative to the first edition were made to include important methodological developments and current research findings. Specifically, additional emphasis is placed on the application of functional neuroimaging techniques to the study of healthy and patient populations.
The book has 9 sections, each with 5 to 13 chapters. The first section, "General Principles," includes introductory chapters about basic principles in behavioral neurology and neuropsychological assessment. The chapters that introduce the principles, techniques, and applications of functional neuroimaging research are both informative and comprehensible to readers with or without background in this area. The last 2 chapters, which are concerned with electrophysiological methods, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and computational modeling, complement this comprehensive introduction.
