Many areas of neurology have exhaustive resources and multiple textbooks to guide a clinician in the decision-making process, and now Childhood Headache fills this need with a text that is both clinically relevant and grounded in basic science. Although mainly aimed at pediatric neurologists, this book is also useful for general neurologists and primary care physicians.
The book has 14 chapters. It is well organized and maintains a consistent style throughout, despite the multiple author contributions. After a concise overview of the basic science of pain, the epidemiology, inheritance, and pathophysiology of pediatric headache are then presented. After the chapter on headache classification, separate chapters cover the most common clinical syndromes of migraine, migraine variants, episodic tension headache, and chronic daily headache.
