As a confirmed user of the second edition of Michael Aminoff's Neurology and General Medicine, I had been looking forward to the new version for some time. In the 7 years between the versions, the areas of overlap between neurology and internal medicine have been some of the most rapidly growing in all of medicine. The heft of the new tome reflects this; although only about 100 pages longer, the larger page format and improved page design suggests that it is really about 30% larger. The second edition had 49 chapters; the new one, 61. But does the increase in size match the growth of knowledge?
