As indicated by Dr Rosenberg in the foreword, Neurogenetics is a book whose time has come. Neurogenetics
is a concise volume addressing the genetic and molecular biological aspects
of a number of neurological diseases. For the reader who has not already been
engulfed by the tidal wave of genetics sweeping medicine, there are several
excellent introductory chapters reviewing molecular techniques and tools used
to determine genetic information about various human diseases. I was also
pleased to see a closing chapter titled, "Genetic Counseling and DNA Testing."
The volume would be incomplete without addressing the many issues, ethical
and legal, involved in genetic counseling and DNA testing.
There are 22 chapters, each divided into sections concerning different
diseases under an initial umbrella topic. Different aspects of the various
diseases within the topic are discussed. Basically, there is a clinical overview
