EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, the Archives of Neurology offers its authors and readers an expedited means of publication: Archives Express, which will enable our editors to publish a few selected articles within about 2 months of acceptance. The peer review process will also be expedited accordingly, with a final decision rendered within about 1 week. Only 1% of accepted articles will enter this fast track to publication. Consideration will be for exceptional new insights into disease processes, brain function, or therapeutic advances of neurologic diseases. Papers not accepted for the expedited route will still be considered for possible publication under the current time frame. We encourage authors to send us their most exceptional clinical or basic research and designate in the cover letter a request for an expedited Archives Express review.
