Neurological Manifestations in Sjögren Syndrome

We read with interest the article by Lafitte1 on the neurological manifestations of Sjögren syndrome (SS). The author provides valuable information on this rare and still poorly understood syndrome. However, we would like to correct a few omissions and errors regarding the "Pathological Findings" section of the article and thus provide the readers of the ARCHIVES better information on the neurological aspects of SS.

In this section, the author insists on the rarity of pathological findings in central nervous system involvement. She mentions only 3 cases with autopsies, reported by Kaltreider and Talal,2 Shearn,3 and Alexander et al.4 This last citation is both incorrect and inappropriate to the text. Alexander published a review article in 1992 entitled "Central Nervous System Disease in Sjögren's Syndrome: New Insights Into Immunopathogenesis,"5 not "Neurologic Complications of Sjögren's syndrome," as cited by Lafitte.
