This book is divided into 7 sections, each containing a pair of chapters, juxtaposed to present clinical and relevant brain research together. This book does not claim to be comprehensive and there is some duplication across sections. Nevertheless, the organization of the book is very effective in encouraging the reader to consider possible relationships of brain mechanisms to neuropsychiatric phenomenon, and the relevance of brain research to the understanding of behavior disorders. This book is dedicated to professor Alwyn Lishman, one of the leading figures in neuropsychiatry during the 20th century. An introduction by the late Frank Benson provides an excellent review of some of the clinical and scientific traditions that have shaped modern neuropsychiatry. The chapters are well written and rich with interesting clinical observations and research findings.
