This textbook is composed of 550 editorial pages divided into 18 chapters. These chapters include, for example, sections on experimental models, epidemiological, clinical, neuroimaging, medical, surgical, and interventional approaches to the treatment of intracranial aneurysms, subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and its complications, and vascular malformations. It is a multiauthored compendium intended for clinicians who diagnose and treat SAH. The authors assembled an outstanding group of internationally renowned experts from Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn, to address these and other related issues in this comprehensive textbook. The textbook has several strengths. First, all chapters are easy to read, balanced, current, and well referenced. Second, despite the large number of contributors, the clear organization and writing style is maintained throughout the textbook with little overlap of information. Third, the textbook is well illustrated.
