This multiauthored text with 15 chapters is a comprehensive look at the diagnosis and management of male and female sexual and reproductive dysfunction in people with chronic neurological diseases. While individual authors offer highly personal and practical ways for clinicians to address sexuality, the text has perhaps too many authors for such a narrow subject. Information tends to be spread in an uneven and redundant fashion among the chapters.

The first chapter covers endocrine and nocturnal tumescence testing and other diagnostic studies, along with drug and physical interventions for neurogenic erectile, ejaculatory, and infertility problems. Another well-done chapter is the one that covers menstrual, intrapartum, and postpartum complications in women with conditions that include migraine, paraplegia, low back pain, cerebral venous thrombosis, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis.
