On the notion of doll's eyes
T. A. Roberts, L. R. Jenkyn and A. G. Reeves
The descriptor doll's eyes is used (and sometimes abused) in reporting
clinical signs at the bedside. Originally coined by Bielschowsky, its
meaning is often compromised by prior experience with dolls that exhibit
human pathology as part of their normal condition. Radiographic examination
of antique dolls provides insight into their mechanism of horizontal
conjugate gaze, a function rarely encountered in contemporary dolls.
