Abstract
The hypothesis of a proportionality between severity of chronic kidney failure (CKF) and duration of dialysis and mental impairment was tested in self-sufficient outpatients who were receiving long-term dialysis and in undialyzed patients with CKF. Extensive neuropsychologic testing failed to elicit any such proportionality.
