Brain Stem Toxoplasmosis Complicating Hodgkin's Disease

Hilliard E. Slavick, MD; Ivan J. Lipman, MD

Arch Neurol. 1977;34(10):636-637.

Abstract

• We describe a unique case of CNS toxoplasmosis in a patient with stage IV B Hodgkin's disease. The initial neurological manifestation was Weber's syndrome. The only laboratory abnormality was moderate elevation of CSF protein level. Postmortem examination showed parenchymal toxoplasma infiltration throughout the intramedullary course of the right oculomotor nerve in the mid-brain, without meningeal involvement.
