Abstract
Muscle twitch tension is grossly defective when the rat sciatic nerve is stimulated at a site proximal to an area of segmental demyelination induced by intraneural diphtheria toxin injection. If hydrocortisone is administered systemically 24 or 4 hours before testing, the defect is lessened considerably.
