Abstract
A 6-month-old infant had two episodes of subarachnoid hemorrhage. Diagnostic studies and craniotomy revealed that the hemorrhages were due to a hemangiopericytoma of the left parieto-occipital region. A literature review has located only three prior cases of brain tumor, with subarachnoid hemorrhage as the initial symptom, during the first two years of life. None of these was a hemangiopericytoma. This tumor is exceedingly rare in infancy.
